After the Fires…
With the Ides of March behind us, we look forward to the rains of April. Our hearts and hands go out to all who lost everything in the fires that struck all over the state of Oklahoma beginning March 14th. Our neighbors to the East and North lost their homes and possessions. Our home and our people are safe from harm, but significant damage was done to barns, sheds, and fences and most importantly our Icelandic ewes. So far we have lost half the herd which became trapped in the flames after we were forced to abandon the property. So much thanks for our friends, who have become dear friends, who appeared seemingly from the heavens to help us when we became overwhelmed and uncertain. Real people doing real things that AI can never accomplish nor understand. It was an honor to receive their help.
Now, clean up is accomplished and the damaged “Big Flower Shoppe” is almost repaired and ready for furniture. The fences are being restored, the sheds rebuilt, and the plans to move forward with the roadside Flower Shoppe, the Big Flower Shoppe, as well as the Members’ Bouquet Garden are intact if not delayed a bit. The Medicinal Herbs Workshop had to be moved from the Big Shoppe to the barn because of the fire damage, but it was such a success that Medicinal Herbs Workshop 2.0 is being planned for April or May. Click here to sign up now as we are sure it will fill quickly.
We are excited to introduce you to the Private Members Garden Association which will allow the free exchange of ideas as well as access to the Private Members Bouquet Garden and the Big Shoppe where local people can exchange local anything in a private, members-only setting. Its a rather new concept for some, so we will be rolling out the idea and will certainly be available to answer any questions as they may arise. The Roadside Flower Shoppe will continue to be available to all without becoming a member, but we will invite you into the Private Membership for the Big Shoppe experience.
When the days remind us that everything eventually goes back to Whom it belongs, it somehow focuses our gratitude for all the things still within our circle of influence. With gratitude and thanks, we look forward to April showers.
To Real things!
